Launch of exclusive new single-malt Scotch whisky
Glenglassaugh Distillery has launched an exclusive new single-malt Scotch whisky.
The limited-edition malt, named "Evolution", has been matured in bourbon casks and has a totally different set of characteristics from "Revival", the previous release from the distillery, located near Portsoy. The bottling has extended to only 6,000 bottles, which have been hand-filled. The feedback from pre-launch tastings in Dufftown, London and Germany has been fantastic. As it is a limited-edition product which has matured in casks sourced from a distillery in Tennessee, Glenglassaugh are confident of a complete sell-out within a relatively short period. Glenglassaugh intend to develop "Evolution" in future with a range of different wood styles; the next release is due in 2013.
"Revival", the first single malt to roll off the production line since the relaunch of Glenglassaugh in 2008 - the most coastal mainland distillery in Scotland - has exceeded all expectations since its release in April 2012.
