Aquarium's New Classroom Boost

Macduff Marine Aquarium has launched a raft of free downloads accessible from its official website to help teachers at schools across the North-east plug into a priceless educational resource.

The Aquarium welcomes more than 3,000 schoolchildren on official guided visits every year, with classes of all ages enjoying tours through the marine habitats, fish and other wildlife of the Moray Firth.

The downloads include informtaion for teachers and a range of colourful, exciting activity sheets, covering study facets required in the Curriculum for Excellence's sciences, maths, social studies and health and wellbeing courses.

Using the resource, children can explore the life cycles of jellyfish and lobsters, compare the features of seabirds, take a peek inside the body of a fish, imagine being a fishing boat skipper and reflect on the experience of touching crabs and starfish at the Aquarium's touchpools.
