Starry line-up on the cards for Haal Festival

Portsoy's 5th Haal Folk Festival has announced its headliners for the big weekend event on Friday 30th May and Sunday 1st June.

Siobhan Miller - winner of 2013 Scottish Singer of the Year at the Traditional Music Awards in Aberdeen - will take to the stage, as will ex-Fairport Convention fiddler Dave Swarbrick.  Dave will be bringing along a number of fellow performers, including Cathan McConnell and Duncan Wood, to perform at the festival.

Completing the main acts line-up is world renowned singer-songwriter Tommy Sands, from Newry, Northern Ireland, who has been very prominent in the peace movement in many countries as well as his home nation.

A new venue, the Boyne Hotel, will be added to the list of places for sessions and workshops, which will be shared between the Salmon Bothy and the Town Hall.  Concerts and other sessions will be held at the Shore Inn and Beggars Belief.  The main concerts and late-night club will once again be held in the Station Hotel.
