Macduff Marine Aquarium reveals raft of new features for new season

The ever popular Macduff Marine Aquarium - recently shortlisted for the Visitor Attraction of the Year award in Aberdeen City and Shire - has had a makeover in preparation for the busy summer season.

Among the latest additions is a beachcombing display that highlights the stories behind animal remains left on the seashore.  Shells, casts, bones, feathers and empty egg cases are available for visitors to handle as part of the interactive exhibit.  New illustrated information boards have been installed at each tank, detailing the animals' vital statistics.

The Aquarium will also be switching on its video link with the nearby gannet colony at Troup Head.  Live images of the birds will be shown on monitors at the centre throughout the summer.
