Athletes say thanks with a taste of the Caribbean!

This summer's Commonwealth Games may now be consigned to memory, but one of the competing teams from the Caribbean has sent a memento of their time in Glasgow to Macduff Marine Aquarium.

Staff at the Aquarium got into the swing of the games by adopting the Antigua and Barbuda team, supporting them with a temporary exhibit of Antiguan fish in a special tank.  It was the first time that tropical species have been displayed at the cold water aquarium.

While the Antiguan athletes were unable to visit Macduff during their time in Scotland, they sent a token of their thanks via Grahame Ross, a volunteer who looked after the Antigua and Barbuda team.  A signed photograph of the team, along with a bottle of special Caribbean hot sauce, will be on display alongside the tank of Antiguan fish which will remain on show until the end of the Aquarium's season later this month.
