Macduff plays host to BBC Filming

Macduff has played a starring role in an eagerly-awaited TV adaptation of a thriller written by one of Scotland's best-loved authors and set in the North-east of Scotland.

The BBC Scotland co-production with Glasgow-based Slate films of the late Iain Banks' novel "Stonemouth" will feature Macduff as the backdrop to a tale of crime, corruption and coming of age set in a fictional town on the Aberdeenshire coast.

The cast is led by Peter Mullan (star of Trainspotting, War Horse and Sunshine on Leith), Gary Lewis (star of Game of Thrones), Sharon Small (star of the Inspector Lynley Mysteries), Christian Cooke and Charlotte Spencer.  The production will be the first time any of Iain Banks work has been dramatised for TV following his death in 2013.  "Stonemouth" is the only novel Iain Banks set in the North-east.
