Glenglassaugh Distillery's 30-year-old has won a bronze medal at one of the most important whisky competitions in the calendar.
The malt enjoyed success at the annual Malt Maniacs competition. There were a total of 12 other medals for BenRiach and GlenDronach whiskies, which are part of the same group.
The Malt Maniacs are a worldwide group of whisky lovers made up of amateur connoisseurs and profssional whisky writers, with the judging panel drawn from the group's amateur ranks. The Maniacs have been conducting their annual competitions since 2003 and it has evolved into one of the most important and independent whisky competitions in the whisky calendar.
As well as winning these coveted Malt Maniacs medals, the organisation has won a further 10 medals at the IWSC awards, announced record profits and a major £25 million investment, and they became the Global Whisky Distiller of the Year at the Icons of Whisky awards. The single cask releases represent the most exclusive whiskies from their warehouse.
