Spooks galore this Halloween in Aberdeenshire
We may be having a beautiful sunny and warm Autumn but as the sun sets and darkness arrives, something more sinister and evil comes to light in Aberdeenshire and along the Banffshire Coast. The temperature plummets, a creepy mist appears and things are not all as they appear as things start to go bump in the night! Maybe it’s my over-active imagination or maybe the reality is that Aberdeenshire’s ghosts and ghouls have come out to play and create some Halloween scares…
For those of you enjoy nothing better than a good old fright after dark I’ve compiled a list of scare-tastic Halloween events for you to attend:
Museum of Scottish Lighthouses
Book now for our children's craft activities during the October Holidays!
Have a go at building your own haunted lighthouse on Thursday 13th October then make everything you need to become a ghostly lighthouse keeper on Thursday 20th October!
Both sessions run from 10am - 12pm or 1pm-3pm.
It costs £1 per child and children must be accompanied by an adult.

Haddo Country Park
Firstly- as you can see from the slightly spangly pic above- tickets are now on sale for our Halloween Magic at Haddo event on the 21st & 23rd October.
If you came along to Kids' Creepy Halloween last year (or were around for the Arts Festival) you'll already know how amazing Haddo looked all lit up. This year we'll have more lights, hopefully a few spooky special effects and a range of woodland sprites, tree fairies and some slightly more scary ghouls and ghosts for you to meet as you explore the park after dark.
There'll be hot food and drink on sale and hopefully (numbers of staff/volunteers permitting) a bonfire to sit round as well.
Tickets are £5 per person with family/group tickets available for £20 which gives you access to the park any time between 7pm and 9pm.
Halloween Monster Ball with Feeva
Get your Halloween Glad Rags on and go to the Halloween Monster Ball at the Aberdeen Altens Hotel. £28 per person including dinner & entertainment or £58 per person including dinner, entertainment and accommodation.
Things that go BUMP in the night!
Graeme Reaper invites you to his annual fancy dress Halloween Party. He’s famous for his scary tricks and spooky stories but he didn’t plan a real murder… or did he?
Durn House in Portsoy are offering you a fully interactive murder mystery experience. Find clues, lead the interrogation and solve the crime as part of an evening packed full of mystery. A delicious 4-course dinner is also incorporated in to the evening.
Face your Fears at Halloween at Macduff Marine Aquarium
Macduff Marine Aquarium are giving you the chance to get to grips with snakes, spiders and other creepy crawlies during creature handling sessions with our friends from Animates between 12.30pm – 2pm on October 30th.
